Nice Coverage, ESPN

If you don’t know me well, that post title was sarcasm. I’ve been kicking back and taking in the Atlanta/Philly game on TBS since the end of dinner. The Braves pitching staff ranks somewhere between foul and astonishingly bad. but after the first inning, things calmed down until the 7th when Chase Utley hit a sac fly (mark a RBI for my fantasy stats) to put the Phillies up 7-3. So I brought up the guide to see if I could find any other green bar happenings (green bar = sports). Basketball was everywhere but ESPN2 was offering "MLB Baseball" – no description was listed but who cares? Another game to enjoy! I flipped over only to find the same goddamn thing on tv. At first I thought I didn’t actually change the channel. I’m enough of a goon that I’ll sometimes think about doing something, not do it, and then assume that I actually have. I went back to TBS - Philadelphia at Atlanta with Skip Caray and Joe Simpson making the call. Back to ESPN2 – yep, Philadelphia at Atlanta but with Gary Thorn and some other tosser. Nice work ESPN! Way to give the audience some bloody options you fucking wankers!!! Bah!

Oh! And what’s on next at ESPN2? Quite Frankly with Screamin’ A Smith. ESPN’s batting 1.000 today. Stupid bastards.

  • the braves should be on every channel, every day!

  • hahaha, sometimes I read posts and wonder when you’re gonna have a rage stroke.
I caught the airing on ESPN2 and thought to myself that it was weird for an ATL home game to not be on TBS but I never bothered to check. As often as they’re showing bowling, Quite Frankly, Bonds on Bonds, and anything else that doesn’t matter, you’d think they’d try to make time to air a baseball game that you can’t find somewhere else.

  • I noticed that too but I always thought it was illegal for one station to show a game that another already has the rights to. That was pretty weird.

  • MTV must have taken a page out of ESPNs programming department when they showed that retard Andy Milonakis on MTV and MTV2 last nite.

  • They’re still letting that stupid fuck on tv? MTV2 is the only place you can catch a video anymore. Soon they’ll launch MTV3 for videos so 1 and 2 can cover their endless stream of reality bullshit.

  • ” … the Braves pitching staff ranks somewhere foul and astonishingly bad … ”
As one of five Royals fans left in the world, let me just say you have no idea what bad pitching is. I think KC is on pace to give up somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 home runs this year.
So excuse me if I don’t show any sympathy. :-P

  • MLBtv. I’ve had it since last year and it’s the best. It’s 80 bucks, which sounds a little steep at first, but you can share it with people and really make it worth while. You won’t miss a game unless you’ve got a blackout restriction.

  • Moses – my condolences. I can remember a time when the KC Royals were the Yankee’s biggest nemesis, not the BlowSox. Still can see George Brett goin bonkers in one of the ALCS games, sad how far that franchise has fallen.

  • Obviously they don’t give a shit if they’re airing something that’s already on tv. This is proven by the fact that they’re showing paintball matches every night INSTEAD of baseball or anything else that actually qualifies as a sport!

  • I really hope they get rid of away with the paintball soon. As much fun as it is to play, it’s equally as horrible to watch. You can’t see anything and each match lasts about 2 minutes.

  • We know you secretly love ESPN, Flash

  • INAMAR — Man … talk about memories. When I was growing up, the Royals were THE class franchise. I remember staying up late to watch Brett take Gossage DEEP to right field … I don’t think I ever saw Frank White make an error … and whenever I say “Yankees suck!” it has less to do with the current economics than it does those epic struggles in the late ’70s and early 80′s.
But they started to blow goats somewhere between the day Kauffman died and Shurholz (sp?) left to go to Atlanta.
And unless a.) Baird gets thrown out on his ass; b.) the economics of the game change, the Royals will continue to suck ass.
At least I have football season. Oh … wait a second. Nevermind.

  • Watch out Moses, Silver will be all over ya for that “back in the day” stuff LOL

  • Haha Inamar that love is reserved just for you!! You keep takin us back to the 60s man.. I’ve got a duty to give you a hard time every once in a while buddy :-)

  • Hey now … I’m a KC sports fan. If I can’t play the “back in the day” card then I got nothin’.
Well, except for relentlessy mocking the Raiders for signing Aaron Brooks. That’ll be good for a while.

  • Mockin the Raiders for Aaron Brooks is gonna get even better when they fuck up their draft picks again and try to make up for it by signing some loser like Kyle Orton to be his backup.

  • LOL, I can dig it Silver . My fondest wish would be to have you “youngsters” experience just a part of the greatest, wildest, most provocative decade of all time! Peace and Love my friend :)
